Balboa Island’s historic mural has been illuminated with Orgatech’s Minatura
1300. Designed by local artist Barbara Abbott, this mural captures the
island’s rich history and charm, serving as a treasured landmark for the community.
To properly showcase its intricate details and vibrant colors, the project
required a lighting solution that was both discreet and powerful.
The Minatura 1300 was the ideal choice, offering precise, even illumination
without overpowering the mural’s original charm. Its low-profile design
seamlessly integrates into the space, preserving the aesthetic while
enhancing visibility. Additionally, its energy-efficient performance ensures
lasting brilliance with minimal maintenance.
Crafted from half-inch square recycled vitreous glass mosaic tiles, the artwork
was expertly fabricated by Artaic Innovative Mosaics in Charleston,
Mass., and installed by the skilled team at Palace Stoneworks.
Now, thanks to the Minatura 1300, the historic mural stands as a beacon of
Balboa Island’s rich artistic and cultural heritage, beautifully illuminated for
residents and visitors to enjoy.
